A few weeks ago, middle school exams decimated my classes. Many classes were canceled; a few only had one student. This is a mixed bag. It's good for the kids because they get more personal attention and more speaking practice. Obviously though they aren't partial to being separated from their friends, spending 3 hours alone with their teacher, and answering all the questions on their own. It can be stressful for the teacher too; if the kid is one of those drones who is just counting down the minutes until break so they can whip out their phones and text at the speed of light, it's excruciating.
When you get a class with one really good kid though, it can be fun. You get through the class material pretty quickly and you get to chat with them a lot. Such was the case in one of my classes. During break, the student immortalized the day on the white board:

I like how she acknowledged (via drops of sweat) the stress that I, the teacher, was going through. I thought this picture was awesome, especially the ghostly missing students.
