As you may recall, some months ago I took my first trip to the jjimjilbang when Max was visiting. While I've been since then, the trips have been infrequent. After football (the stupid kind) on Saturday and football (the good kind) on Sunday, I decided I could use some hot tub time. Here are some thoughts.
- I'm getting more and more used to Korea. The idea of walking around naked for an hour didn't phase me. Moreover, the sight of two naked Korean boys slapping each other on their arses hardly caused me to raise an eyebrow.
- The expression "rub salt in the wound" isn't just an expression. There's a sauna where you rub yourself with salt, probably to "exfoliate" or "cleanse" or some such girly nonsense. When the salt accidentally brushed my recent turf burn, it hurt like all get out.
- Don't go to the jjimjilbang at 7:30. Too many children. Some kid doing a cannonball into your hot tub is unpleasant.
- I need to go more often. I felt great after soaking for a while.
