During class students are alotted a couple of five minute breaks. When they return late, I make them stay in for their next break and write "I will not be late from break" 25 times. However, sometimes the Korean staff pulls them aside to talk about something, and of course I let that slide. Yesterday, however, two students tried to pull fast one on me.
"You guys are three minutes late," I said. "What happened?"
"We were talking to a Korean teacher!" they protested.
"Oh? Which one?"
"Uh . . . tall . . . man . . . no glasses."
"What was he wearing?"
" . . . clothes?"
They missed their next break.
